Educational Objectives
  -Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

1. Compare and contrast peripartum presentations of mental illness, including
   1. Peripartum Blues
   2. Major Depressive Disorder, Peripartum Onset, with and without Psychotic Features (also known as Peripartum Depression)
   3. Peripartum Psychosis
          
2. Obtain a thorough history and mental status examination in a patient presenting with mood symptoms in the peripartum period.
          
3. Discuss challenges and considerations in mental illness treatment during pregnancy and the postpartum period, including risks of untreated mental illness and risks of medications.
          
4. Counsel a patient regarding evidence-based lifestyle interventions, psychotherapy, and pharmacologic treatment options indicated for the treatment of peripartum depression and peripartum psychosis, including anticipated benefits and risks/side effects.
